Trivia This Day in History: Take that Great Britain 1 minute read On September 5th 1774 the first meeting of the First Continental Congress was held at Carpenters’ Hall in Philadelphia, it met until October 22nd,1774. 12 of the 13 colonies met and decided to embargo trade with Great Britain.
