Maho Beach: DANGER – FLYING TOURIST ZONE
Everyone at Maho Beach in the Caribbean loves getting blown…by the blasts of jet engines as planes land at the nearby SXM Airport in St. Maarten.
It’s quite thrilling to watch the planes go right over your head while on a gorgeousbeach overlooking a pristine ocean. I’d insert a plane joke right now, but that might go over your head too!
Pro tips:
- Get there early…there are beach chairs you can rent right on the beach, but they go very quickly so you want to get there in the morning. Don’t worry, you can get there and there’s restaurants and bars right there to make a full day of it!
- Keep up to date with flight schedules so you know when planes are coming in, especially the big ones! I recommend Skyscanner
- Hold on to your hat! …and other belongings. They can fly right away with the power of the blasts.
