These easy popcorn recipes all have the same method. Just take a bag of microwaved popcorn and empty into a large resealable bag. Mix ingredients in a small bowl. Add ingredients and shake! (Shake your popcorn, shake your head, shake your booty. Have fun with it!)
Southwest Style
1 1⁄2 tsp chili powder
2 tbsp salt
1 tbsp ground cumin
Fun fact: A kernel can pop as high as three feet into the air when it pops (I can jump about three inches)
Ranch Style
2 1/2 tbsp coconut oil
1 tbsp onion flakes
2 tsp parsley leaves
2 tsp basil leaves
1 tsp dill weed
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp black pepper
3/4 tsp himalayan salt
Fun fact: 1 cup of popcorn is about 1,600 kernels (I dare you to count them. Triple dog dare you)
Cinnamon sweet
2 tbsp light brown sugar
1 1/4 tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp salt
Fun fact: Unpopped popcorn kernels are called old maids (I feel like there’s a “Your mama” joke in there somewhere)
Pizza
2 tbsp butter, melted
4 tbsp Parmesan
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp oregano
1/4 cup chopped pepperoni
Fun fact: Popcorn has been sold in movie theaters since 1912. It makes money for the theaters because not only does it have a high profit margin, but it usually makes people thirsty, boosting drink sales. The profit margin is so high that for every dollar spent, about ninety cents is profit. (In Fergie style: I got that…I got that popcorn money)
Flamin’
1/4 cup melted butter
2 1/2 tbsp Tabasco Sauce
1 clove garlic, finely minced
Fun fact: Orville Redenbacher was just 12 years old when he started growing popcorn in 1919. Today, it is the worlds best selling popcorn
Cheesy
1 1/2 tablespoon Nutritional Yeast
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon onion powder
1/8 teaspoon cumin
1/8 teaspoon paprika
1/8 teaspoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
Fun fact: It takes 135 pounds of pressure to pop a kernel. There is a small amount of water inside each kernel. When it is heated it turns to steam. Once the pressure from the steam reaches 135 pounds, the kernel pops.
