The first president of the United States had a lot on his plate…and in his cup apparently. George Washington owned and operated one of the largest distilleries in the country at the time. It was located in Mount Vernon, Virginia and produced 11,000 gallons in 1799 of mostly whiskey.

Today there are around 2,000 distilleries in the United States and at least one in every state.

Taiwan has a new trend that the west coast is embracing, and brace yourself: it’s going to sound super weird. But try it, I implore you foodie nerds. It’s breathtaking and has all the makings of a masterpiece.

Thursday, October 4th, is National Taco Day in the USA. Thursday seems like a weird day for it. Thursday is more of a day for throwbacks or being thirsty. If you’re like me, every Tuesday is Taco Day… and Margarita Day. Every other day is Vodka and Tonic Day. Perhaps you’re not like me and then you should be prepared for this Thursday with some taco facts, puns, and a delicious recipe in true Newdie Mag style.
