Groundbreaking!

‘This drink’? Oh. Ok. I see. You think this has nothing to do with you. You go to your neighborhood bar and you order… I don’t know… a Blue Hawaiian, for instance because you’re trying to tell the world that you take yourself too seriously to care about what you drink. But what you don’t know is that that drink is not just blue, it’s not turquoise. It’s not lapis. It’s actually cerulean. And you’re also blithely unaware of the fact that in 2002, Morton’s did a Cerulean Margarita. And then I think it was The Palm… wasn’t it who served a Cerulean Rum Punch? I think we need a drink here. And then cerulean quickly showed up in the menus of eight different restaurants. And then it, uh, filtered down through the local bars and then trickled on down into some tragic dive bar where you, no doubt, ordered it during two for one happy hour. However, that blue represents millions of dollars and countless jobs and it’s sort of comical how you think that you’ve made a choice that exempts you from the bar industry when, in fact, you’re drinking a cocktail that was selected for you by the people in this room from a tray of drinks.

Of course you need to pair this drink with a Jarlsberg Grilled Cheese sandwich, perhaps $8 worth. Both recipes are below:

Cerulean Cocktail:

Ingredients:

1 ounce Peach Schnapps
1 ounce Blue Curaçao
2 ounces of Vodka
6 ounces of Sprite (I bet a million sodas would kill for this job)
Ice

Directions:

1) Place ice in glass

2) Add Peach Schnapps, Blue Curacao, and Vodka. Stir (By all means, move at a glacial pace. You know how that thrills me.)

3) Top off with Sprite

Jarlsberg Grilled Cheese:

Ingredients:

Butter
4 slices of bread
Jarlsberg cheese slices

Directions:

1) Generously butter one side of bread slices. Place bread butter-side-down onto skillet bottom and add slices of cheese. Place buttered bread on top.

2) Grill until lightly browned and flip over; continue grilling until cheese is melted.
