Quick Fact of the day: Not a FLAME-ingo

Flamingos aren’t naturally pink. They are actually born born a dull gray. The pinkish hue comes from beta carotene, a red-orange pigment that’s found in high numbers within the algae, larvae, and brine shrimp that flamingos eat in their wetland environment.
